Perhaps as you start a new year it may feel daunting to you because you don’t know what’s going to happen, what your performance will be or what variables may change.

Research informs us that the success of any task whether large or small, can be found in a person’s attitude and belief about themselves. Albert Bandura, Stanford psychologist, referred to it as self-efficacy which simply put means, you believe you can accomplish a task, the belief that You Got This!

What’s your self-efficacy as you embark upon 2017? Take a moment to reflect on the belief you have in yourself. I’m in your balcony chanting, “You Got This!”

YOU GOT THIS! - January 3, 2017

It’s the beginning of a new year, an opportunity for a fresh start. Now that you have “unpacked” (see eTIP for December 27th) you are hopefully ready to engage in what awaits you in 2017.

I had a client once that was a salesman by trade. He had the most difficulty at the beginning and ending of each month depending on his numbers. He described it as constantly being on a roller coaster. He said it was the “only job where you can be a hero on the last day of the month and then just an average guy the next day”, the beginning of the month. His whole world could change with the ending and beginning of a day.
